VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Throughout the year’s Miracles Happen has been blessed to have many volunteers and members of the community provide additional program support for our residents.   We could not be successful without their assistance and want to express our gratitude for all of the help and support they give.  By bringing bible studies, step studies, counseling for residents with grief, mental health, or other co-occurring issues to our program, residents have truly benefited from the additional support.  Many agencies, churches, and local companies have provided support through donations of food, holiday meals, and jobs for our residents.  It truly takes the efforts of the community to help those trying to recover from the torments of addiction.

Currently, all donations are being used for our capital expansion project at 285 Stephen Circle in Toccoa, Georgia.  David and Barbara have personally secured and guaranteed the purchase of the 6,400 square foot building to be used to expand services for up to 40 additional residents.  A remodel of the building interior is planned to be completed by September of 2021.  The total project cost for the building, remodel, and furnishings will be approximately $500,000.  We are pursuing grant opportunities, but we still need your support to be able to help serve additional residents searching for a new way of life.  Barbara has a dream that if 5,000 people who are in the recovering community or whose lives have been affected by a loved one’s addiction would donate $100 the expansion would be debt-free.  This would allow us to keep our fees low for the underserved population of addicted men who have few options for long-term recovery support.
